Are you having a laugh?

If a 'dog is a dog' why are you a member of this forum and, why if a dog is a dog, have you asked several questions since getting yours?

TKO has been praised because not many people do any type of research prior to deciding on what breed to get, much less prior to bringing an animal of any type home. He and his family have taken great care in deciding if a Boxer (or any dog) was right for their situation, living style and home.

TKO's situation is also different than the average person as he's brought a rescue into his family's home. Do you have experience with raising rescued Boxers from which you can base an opinion? Do you have any experience in seeing rescued dogs treated incorrectly and put back into the system?

I am personally offended at your post. 90% of the members of this board, including myself, are very passionate about the breed. Most are passionate about dogs in general and further still, all animal life.

Perhaps to you, dogs are dogs. A Boxer may be no different than a labrador or a chihuaha. However, to say you're laughing at what the rest of the members have said is ignorant and rude and frightfully close to flaming.

Wow, i did not mean to offend. As a matter of fact, what i was trying to say is that I was impressed with how much feedback tko has gotten. I do believe that some of the responses are a bit on the harsh side, and I know that you can still give someone the truth without coming across as rude. To answer your qustion I am on this site because I love my DOG and I look to more experienced people for advice. Once again I apologise and Ill keep my opinions to my self in the future.

Default Good Luck!!

Hello! I just wanted to tell you good luck! When my family got our first boxer he was from the pound had been beaten, starved, and kept ouside even during the winter months. I don;t know whether he had ever been around kids before or not.
When the people at the pound found out that there were kids in the home they didn't want to adopt him to my husband (who was bringing him home as a surprise to all of us). They said he surely wouldn't do good with kids, let alone people in general.
When Max first walked in with my husband I think I almost had a heart attack!! The twins were only 5years old and my youngest was only 6 months. I had never seen a Boxer let alone have one with Maxs' background near my little kids. Obviously Max was nervous, but after being in the house for a couple of hours, to my surprise, Max put a front paw on either side of my lap (while i was holding the baby). I didn't know what to do at first, I was hoping he wasn't going to bite the baby or me, but he simply leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek. From that moment on I had fallen in love with him. He was the best dog I have ever had, he was awesome with the kids and just had the best personality along with lots of love to give to a family that would treat him kindly. He nibbled on the kids earlobes (gently), chased them around the backyard, and howled when y son played the harmonica (lol)! I would say just watch him around the kids, but let him interact with the family, that's the only way you'll create a bond. Anyways, goodluck!
