Default Cat issues

Okay currently I have two cats that are at my dad's for the time being while we wait on our house to be completed, Shasta stays with us. Well I go visit my dad and Shasta goes everywhere I go. My cats are kinda confusing, they hiss and go after her if she's a few feet away, but if she's sleeping or laying on the couch they will come up and sniff her and walk close to her. Shasta is very sweet with the cats. My dad has 6 outside neighborhood cats and 2 of them come up and love on her and she played with one the other night, so she's thinking the inside ones will do the same and they don't. I'm not sure what to do. My oldest cat has lived with a dog years ago but the baby hasn't(Landlords won't allow dogs at my dad's). So I guess my question is how do I get them used to her?

Thank You!

Sorry, I can't do the cat thing here so I'm not sure. :) I do know that a lot of people utilize cat carriers and baby gates. Hopefully someone with dog v. cat experience will come along today.

It is all just a matter time. Once you all are together and things settle down, they will adjust.

When we first brought Daphne home, our cat Oreo was one mad pussy cat. He hid out in our garage for a few days and then would start sneaking around when Daphne was sleeping to check her out. When they were face to face Oreo would hiss and growl but as time went by he realized she was not going anywhere and they learned how to respect each others space. BUT Daphne is a little brat and she does every once in a while chase the cat.

We went through the same ordeal all over again when Zeus came home, Oreo hid again in the garage and did the hiss and growling. Zeus and Oreo now do get along better than Daphne and Oreo do.
Its funny I have been told by my family that when Daphne is not home. (she goes alot of places with me) that Oreo is very much relaxed and him and Zeus get along very well.
Daphne is just a brat, we think she is stuck in the terrible 2's

I agree with the above post- it's all about time. Regan (my cat) still beats Bella around from time to time, but not nearly as badly as she did at first. We used Bella's crate and Regan's carrier to let them get used to each other's scent at the very first. Regan pretty much leaves Bella alone now unless Bella's being annoying in which case we try to distract her or just call her away (although when she's focused on playing with kitty, man is she EVER focused- she's very good at tuning us out. We're working on that).

The BEST part is when you see them curled up near each other. One of my favourite photos is from about a month ago, with Bella and Regan both curled up on me on the couch. Success!! :)

It really just takes time.
